Emily Schapira

President & CEO

Philadelphia Energy Authority

Emily leads the Philadelphia Energy Authority, a municipal government entity building a robust, equitable clean energy economy in Philadelphia. Since 2017, PEA has supported nearly $300 million in energy efficiency and clean energy projects, and created over 2,500 jobs. PEA's approach -- putting equity first and pairing programs and projects with workforce development -- is a nationally-recognized model, including first-in-the-nation programs like Bright Solar Futures and Built to Last. Prior to PEA, Emily led private sector energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives at Verizon, Intel, Wharton and WESCO, and received her MBA from Wharton. Emily serves on the boards of Volt Energy, Ride to Work, and Government Technology's Special Districts Program, and is President of the board of the Philadelphia Green Capital Corp, Philadelphia's green bank.
