In his role as Assistant Director of Operations for the City of Durham Solid Waste Department, Wayne oversees all collection operations, operations for the City's Waste Disposal and Recycling Center and code enforcement for solid waste issues. Wayne’s professional background is in waste management and recycling, sustainability, and energy management. He holds an MPA in Public Administration from North Carolina State University and is passionate about integrating smart city solutions and technology innovations into public sector work. Prior to joining the City of Durham, Wayne held multiple government roles in Orange Country, North Carolina, and managed solid waste planning for the City of London, Ontario Canada.
