Scott Sellers has had a successful career as both an entrepreneur and city manager. He currently owns several businesses focused on innovation in the public sector. He recently retired from city management after almost two decades serving in four states, most recently as the City Manager of Kyle, TX. He now works with Strategic Government Resources and the Alliance for Innovation on their Innovation Ecosystem initiative.
The Innovation Ecosystem is a new concept which pairs existing and emerging products and services with local government partners. It is a full service suite, beginning with vetting products and services via research partners, universities, innovation labs, and local governments. Qualifying startups may be paired with venture capital and innovative cities. Finally, all products will be made available for procurement via an Innovation Marketplace, where cities are able to piggyback off of existing contracts. Successful products and services will receive a case study and additional marketing assistance through AFI.
