John Jackson has 30 years of police service. This experience in multiple municipal police departments includes being in positions and ranks up to and including serving as the Chief of Police in both rural and urban cities in the State of Colorado.
John’s last assignment in law enforcement was serving as the Chief of Police for the City of Greenwood Village, which is a southern suburb contiguous to Denver. As a Chief, John valued external leadership opportunities as evidenced by him being a past President of the Executive Board for the Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP). During his time with the CACP he served as chair for the Legislative Committee, was the CACP lead for the development of a state-wide eDiscovery criminal case filing system and led many Marijuana Committees.
In October of 2017, John was promoted to the position of City Manager for the City of Greenwood Village, where he currently leads all city operations, with an emphasis on the modernization of efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery, of 7 departments and a staff of 273 people.
