Kimberly Walker LaGrue serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the City of New Orleans and head of the Information Technology and Innovation department. As the first woman appointed to this position, Ms. LaGrue and her team are responsible for delivering stable, IT services to City of New Orleans employees and constituents – a task accomplished through the development of sustainable, forward-looking strategies for growth and expansion of IT services. Also, Kimberly has a responsibility to improve New Orleans’ positioning as a tech-savvy, smart city, able to address challenges with 21st-century technology.
A New Orleans native, Kimberly has over 25 years of experience in IT operations, telecommunications and data management. She has spent the majority of her career advancing technology in local organizations, including workforce development, education, and nearly 20 years as a member of the teams that modernized technology in City government. Kimberly serves on the Advisory Board for the Louisiana IT Symposium/Women in Technology Group and is a member of the GMIS International Association of Government IT leaders. She is a fierce advocate for local broadband adoption and is personally committed to digital equity, digital literacy and technology opportunities for all New Orleanians.
