Heather Arnold serves as Amazon’s Senior Manager of Economic Development for Physical Retail. She
brings over 20 years of retail real estate research and analysis experience to this role. As an adjunct
professor at Georgetown University, Heather co-authored several articles for professional journals and
contributed the closing chapter of Streetlife: Urban Retail Dynamics and Prospects (Ch. 13: “Future of
American Urban Retail”). Her previous work responsibilities focused on retail policy and attraction
strategies for cities including Washington, DC; Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Tampa, FL;
Philadelphia, PA; Santa Monica, CA; Cleveland, OH; Durham, NC; and Vancouver, BC; among others.
