Heather Urwiller, MRP, AICP, CFM, is a certified planner and floodplain manager with 23 years of experience in urban design, land use, and regional planning. She holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University at Albany and currently serves as Special Program Management Coordinator with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, supporting the Planning Director’s Office. Throughout her career, Heather has served as a Planning Consultant and Planning Director for communities across four states. She has led the development of multiple Comprehensive Plans, supported the planning, design, and development of new housing projects, and contributed to community engagement initiatives, including her work with the Prince George’s County Qualified Data Task Force. Passionate about strengthening communities and the planning profession, Heather is committed to developing future planning leaders through the sharing of knowledge, and experience at the intersection of community design and technology implementation. Her work reflects a dedication to creating great communities through innovative planning, collaboration, and informed decision-making.
