Pat Marnell, P.E. is the Vice President of Product for Q-Free’s Traffic Management division, where he leads the development of technology that helps agencies make road travel safer and more efficient. Working at the intersection of transportation engineering, connected infrastructure, and software, Pat has more than 15 years of experience spanning consulting, technology development, research, and public-sector service.
Pat is also a strong advocate for modern cybersecurity standards to protect increasingly connected critical transportation infrastructure, contributing to industry efforts through organizations including NEMA, TRB, and the ITE Industry Council. He is an incoming member of the ITE International Board of Direction and previously served as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Hubbard, Oregon, giving him a firsthand perspective on both the technologies shaping modern infrastructure and the realities facing the communities deploying them. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University and is a registered professional engineer in Oregon and Montana.
