Chris is the Director of Environmental Engineering and Resilience for Straughan Environmental with nearly 30 years of experience. He has led and coordinated grant opportunity pursuits and coordinated stakeholder engagement and public outreach. He is a registered professional engineer; a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE) of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, and is an LEED AP and ENV SP. His background has included projects involving climate and coastal resilience, water and wastewater systems, marine design, dredging, and resource management as well as hazardous materials investigation and design for remediation.

Since 2011 Chris has been a faculty member of Johns Hopkins University where he is co-Coordinator of the Coastal Climate Resilience Research Initiative (C2RI) as well as Adjunct Professor and Program Manager of the Environmental Engineering, Science, Management, and Sustainability Programs within the Engineering for Professionals program.
