Michael Walsh was appointed the Director of Rail Maintenance in October 2019, for the MBTA, overseeing the Fleet Maintenance for the Heavy and Light Rail Fleet of Vehicles. Prior to this Mike Walsh was the Deputy Director of Engineering at the MBTA. He was responsible for engineering work on the Rail Fleet and working on Special Projects for the Bus Fleet and Procurement of the new Red and Orange Line Fleet of Vehicles. Mike Walsh joined the MBTA on June 2011 as an Engineer. Mike was responsible for implementing a Reliability Centered Maintenance Program on the MBTA’s new fleet of Blue Line Cars.

Prior to joining the MBTA, Michael has 25 years of engineering experience at companies such as Dynamics Research Corporation, General Dynamics Electric Boat and Raytheon Corporation, where He was a Senior Systems Engineer.
