Bruce Tonn

Three3, Inc.

Dr. Bruce Tonn is President of Three 3 Inc., which is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit research organization

located in Knoxville, Tennessee. Dr. Tonn is the Principal Investigator for the grant awarded to

Three 3 by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to build a system to alert elders and their social

network about hazardous indoor environmental conditions. This project complements Three 3 ’s

research into the health and social determinants of health benefits attributable to weatherizing

low-income homes. Dr. Tonn is an internationally known futurist and is an Associate Editor of

the journal Futures. Dr. Tonn earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, a

Master’s in City and Regional Planning from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Urban and

Regional Planning from Northwestern University.
